Site-Specific Testing Matters
Gonorrhea and chlamydia at the throat and rectum are missed by standard urine-only tests. The CDC recommends testing at every anatomic site of potential exposure. CLEAR offers pharyngeal, rectal, and urethral/vaginal swabs — together or individually.
On PrEP? Test Every 3 Months.
PrEP (Truvada or Descovy) is highly effective at preventing HIV — but it doesn't protect against gonorrhea, chlamydia, or syphilis. CDC guidelines require HIV, STI, renal function, and hepatitis B testing every 90 days while on PrEP.
